Home of the Winnebago Historical Society and Leibrand-Whiteis Historical Center. The Museum is a beautiful example of neoclassical architecture and home to a variety of unique and rare collections and exhibits.
Leibrand-Whiteis Historical Center
The Leibrand-Whiteis Historical Center is a compilation of decades of history collected and researched available in several formats. The library has been the life work and passion of two of the Winnebago Historical Societies most dedicated board members and the namesakes of the Historical Center, Ruth Leibrand and Carol Whiteis.
Armed Forces Historical Center
The museum will provide visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in the stories of veterans from North Iowa. Visitors will hear the unique veterans' experiences and see military items that support the experience.
Winnebago Historical Society
The Winnebago Historical Society located in Forest City, Iowa operates and maintains the Mansion Museum, Trinity Church, Heritage Park of North Iowa, and the Armed Forces Historical Center. Known as the Leibrand-Whiteis Historical Center, and located at the Mansion, is a large collection of historical archives for Winnebago County and surrounding areas.
